Khenpo Karma Chöchok was born in eastern Tibet in Kham. After becoming a monk at the age of twenty he left Tibet and went to Nepal where he studied for a few years. Later he studied at the Nalanda Institute in Sikkim and became a khenpo. He has been teaching at KIBI since 1994. Khenpo Chöchok teaches both Tibetan language and buddhist philosophy classes. During the summer months Khenpo Chöchok travels and teaches in the United States.
Khenpo Karma Ngedön left Tibet at the age of nineteen after becoming a monk. He travelled to Nepal where he studied for a period of time. He later continued his studies to become a khenpo at the Nalanda Institute in Sikkim. Khenpo Ngedön has been a faculty member at KIBI since 1994. He teaches both Tibetan language and philosophy classes. During the summer months Khenpo Ngedön teaches in both Europe and South America.
Khenpo Tsering Samdup was born in Dharamsala to a family of Tibetan refugees from the province of Kham. In 1981 Khenpo Tsering became a monk at the age of 14. He studied at the Nalanda Institute and on completion of his studies in 1992 he taught a further two years at Nalanda. Khenpo Tsering has been teaching at KIBI since 1994. Currently responsible for the administration of the Institute, Khenpo Tsering also teaches tibetan buddhist philosophy. During the summer months Khenpo tours in Europe and the United States giving teachings in buddhist philosophy.
Khenpo Tsultrim Zangpo was born in a tibetan refugee family in southern India. At the age of thirteen he had a strong desire to become a monk and began his studies at that time. From 1983 until 1992 he studied at the Nalanda Institute in Sikkim and on completion of those studies began teaching at KIBI. Khenpo teaches tibetan buddhist philosphy, and tibetan languages classes at the Institute. During the summer months Khenpo tours in Europe and South America giving teachings in buddhist philosophy.
